Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) Operator-Technician (2-day course)
This course is pre-approved for 16 ACTAR CEUs.
This course will provide an understanding of the components of the Bosch CDR Tool exposing the user to the basic functions of the hardware and software. The goal is for the user to confidently collect and preserve data from supported vehicles using the standard OBD II (DLC) port, or in some cases directly from the airbag control module (ACM).
This course does not go into any analysis of the collected data, however it is a required prerequisite for some Bosch CDR report data analysis courses.

Bosch CDR Tool User Update Course (4 to 6 hours)
It is anticipated this course will be approved for four to six ACTAR CEUs.
This course will provide an update to existing Bosch CDR tool users. This course may be a review for some but most likely will cover topics that were not part of your initial Bosch CDR tool training. Some of the major topics include the CDR 900 interface, CDR 500 flexray adapter, and newly supported modules such as General Motors Active Safety components. There will also be a repowering review as well as a discussion on vehicles with gateway modules including the newer GM vehicles.
This course is available as an in-person course and can be combined with other EDR tool training courses.
It has also been presented live online via Zoom and we anticipate offering it on a regular basis.
|
These courses are best suited for law enforcement crash investigators, field investigators, insurance investigators and adjusters, or those involved in vehicle documentation and examinations.
All in-person Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) tool and Event Data Recorder (EDR) tool courses include lecture and hands-on activities by experienced instructors. Live online courses include lecture and some self-paced hands-on activities by students following the live presentation.
Attendees are not required to own the factory specific tools (Bosch CDR tool, Hyundai-Kia EDR tool, Tesla EDR Tool) in order to attend these courses, although it is strongly encouraged. Some of the self-paced activities will require access to the respective CDR/EDR tool.
